We’ve received a lot of inquiries about when we will resume our auction service at Brush Creek Auction and Event Center and wanted to provide some some insight.

First, let me say that we're beyond grateful for the success of our initial weekly auctions and would like to share some insights into our temporary hiatus.

Like many auction houses, we experience slower periods in late spring and early summer. And thats okay, get out there and enjoy all there is to do in beautiful southern Indiana.

This downtime allows us to undertake crucial building maintenance, including some reqiured roof replacement and repair.

We'd like to enhance our front entrance and will be completing our kitchen for certified food services when we resume.

We intend to reschedule our auctions strategically to maximize attendance. It doesn’t make a lot of businesses sense to host another auction when there are two other auctions going on within the same county.

Personally, I've found it challenging to balance my full-time job with the demands of the auction house. Being at the auction house until 11 PM every weeknight and the majority of hours available every weekend has ran my gas tank empty.

Given my commitment to delivering exceptional customer experience, we're using this opportunity to implement these improvements that we can sustain for the long term.

There will not be a live auction this Friday, May 22, 2026 at Brush Creek Auction and Event Center.

We have been learning a lot over the past couple of months and are taking some time to implement some strategic changes to better serve our customers.

Our goal has been and always will be to provide our customers with a fun and memorable auction experience.

We appreciate everyone’s patience as we implement these improvements and look forward to seeing everyone back at the auction in the near future.

Reminder, no auction tonight at Brush Creek Auction and Event Center Friday, May 15, 2026.

We are however will be having a Highway 50 Yard Sale until 5 today, and then traveling to support the New Marion Amish School Fish Fry at the Southeast Indiana Produce Auction location just south of Versailles. They will have all you care to eat fish for $15 for an adult meal. I’ll try to post a flyer later this morning.

If you’re not into yard sales, have had your fill of fish on Friday’s for a while, and still needing an auction fix, check out Hall’s Auction Service located at 219 East IN-356, Scottsburg, Indiana 47170. They have a great auction lineup tonight, and Dale Hall is one of the best auctioneers and bid callers in the business.

Either way, get out there and have some fun and support local!

Another fantastic sale in the books!

We want to thank everyone for coming out to the auction tonight.

A special thank you to Ephraim and family for gracing our customers with the beautiful flower arrangements. We certainly hope all the moms that are recipients of their labor of love this Mother’s Day enjoy them!

It was wonderful having Enos, Joanne, and the kids down from Shipshewana to join us—we had a blast catching up, and it was great seeing Enos and Ruben having so much fun ringing items!

A special thank you to Danny for doing an absolute awesome job calling tonight!

A big thanks to Patty for doing an amazing job clerking as always!

Huge shout-out to Angie and her crew for knocking it out of the park with The Lickity food trailer; the food was delicious and kept everyone satisfied.

I’d be remiss if I didn’t give a shout out to Lettie! We’re so happy you were able to join us again this week and keep the books straight. And a big thank you again to Ashley for keeping the train on track in her adsence the past couple of weeks!

Please note: There will be no auction next Friday due to the Highway 50 yard sales. However, we will be open with inside and outside spaces available for rent for those interested!
