What an amazing year for our iCan Make A Difference Recycling Challenge! ♻️💚

This year, we had the opportunity to partner with Emerson and Kennedy, with a total of 2 schools and 19 classrooms participating in the challenge! We are so thankful to everyone who joined in and helped make this year such a success.

At Pacific Steel & Recycling, we are always excited to see kids get curious about recycling and learn how even small actions can make a big difference.

Even though both schools took on the challenge in their own unique way, we still saw SO much participation and support from students, staff, and families!
👏 Emerson collected an incredible 408 pounds of aluminum cans!
👏 Kennedy collected an amazing 522 pounds of aluminum cans!

That brings our iCan Make A Difference grand total to an incredible 930 pounds of aluminum cans recycled! 🥫♻️

The classroom that brought in the most cans from each school also won a pizza party for all their hard work and participation! 🍕👏
At Emerson, the top student recycler won a Dairy Queen gift card, a hat, and a certificate recognizing them as a Top Recycler! Kennedy chose to keep the challenge school-wide and collected cans together as a team, so we did not have an individual student winner there.

Thank you again to Emerson and Kennedy for taking on this challenge and helping make recycling fun, exciting, and impactful for students. We loved seeing the enthusiasm from everyone involved!
We’re already looking forward to next year and hope to get even more schools and classrooms involved — and hopefully host a field trip as part of the iCan Make A Difference Recycling Challenge!

🌱 Pausing our regularly scheduled programming to celebrate something pretty special… last week’s very first Igniter Summit. 🔥

Over three days in Great Falls, Montana, we brought together our culture ambassadors (Igniters)from across our footprint 👣to learn, connect, challenge each other, volunteer, laugh, and continue strengthening what makes this company different (Employee Ownership)! 🥳

Our Igniters are more than participants in programs or meetings. They are connectors. Culture builders. People who are willing to model ownership in action every single day.

Throughout the Summit, we:
💚 Learned through leadership and culture sessions
💚 Worked hands-on together
💚 Volunteered with the incredible team at 's House.
💚 Toured our Great Falls branches (Great Falls Steel, Great Falls Recycling, Steel Etc., and Corp HQ).
💚 And yes… hosted our first ever Paper, Scissors, Rock Tournament 🏆 (an amazing idea borrowed from our friends at )

Underneath all the fun, this Summit represented something much deeper.

More than 119 years ago, Joseph Thiebes built Pacific on values like trust, fairness, hard work, and connection. Those roots still matter today. You could feel them in every conversation, every shared idea, every volunteer moment, and every person willing to step up and help make Pacific stronger.

Ownership is not just something we say.
It is something we build together.

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make this first Summit a success, especially:
👏 The Wendt Agency
👏 Jesse Tyler from Hypertherm
👏 Our Great Falls teams
👏 And every Igniter who showed up fully engaged and ready to pour into others

Culture doesn't just happen. It's created! 💪

♻️✨ New to scrapping? ♻️✨
Don’t worry, everybody starts somewhere!

We put together this beginner friendly guide showing just SOME of the materials we accept at Pacific Recycling to help make scrapping simple and stress free. From aluminum and copper to appliances and more, you might be surprised how many everyday items can be recycled for cash 💰

It’s a great time to clean out garages, shops, sheds, and yards while helping recycle valuable materials back into use 🌎♻️

Questions about an item? Give us a call or stop by. We’re happy to help!
