Another project wrapped up! 🐴💧

We installed a new water line feeding an automatic Drinking Post waterer, giving these horses reliable access to fresh water without the owners having to constantly fill or check tanks.

We also brought in and graded crushed granite throughout the horse area to help with drainage, cut down on mud, and keep the horses’ hooves cleaner.

Now when the customers are out of town, they can have some peace of mind knowing the horses have water without having to pay someone to come by and check it every day.

Sometimes a spring just needs a little help finding its way to the surface.

Before starting this project, we never would’ve believed we’d hit water just 2 feet below the ground here in Eastern Colorado’s high plains desert—but sure enough, we found a natural spring.

We excavated the area to approximately 8–9 feet deep, allowing the spring to flow freely. This water source will help provide fresh water for the owner’s cattle for years to come.

And of course… if you know Pine, you know he couldn’t stay away from the mud. 🐾😂

Before & After – Custom Irrigation Manifold Repair

At JD’s Excavation, we enjoy the jobs that make other contractors scratch their heads.

This project started with an old irrigation manifold and a capped-off line that originally fed the same main water line. The existing pipe was outdated, and finding replacement fittings for it was nearly impossible. Instead of patching together a temporary fix, we removed the old manifold, redesigned the system, and installed a new setup that is easier to service and built to last.
