This year’s Goats for Grammas race raised $13,000 to support orphanages in Kenya and Uganda. A big thank you to all the runners, sponsors, race organizers, and volunteers who make this local Cable, WI event possible!

Huge thanks to Kelly Randolph for capturing these and many more great photos.

The boys and Joanna all placed first in their age classes, bringing home medals and a grand prize of 10 lbs. of jerky!

Feels like a dream following the creek back to this old railroad grade on our family’s land that I used to explore as a kid. Until now, the only pictures I had of this place were those in my memory. From the bridge crossing and railroad ties to the water below, some places never lose their magic.

Now, getting to share these same woods with my own kids makes this journey of land stewardship even more meaningful. Grateful to care for a place that holds so much family history while creating new memories for the next generation.

Forest Appreciation Week here in Wisconsin coincides with Joanna’s birthday. Plus Earth Day is just around the corner, making it a good week to pause and appreciate it all.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to spend our days working in and caring for the forests that make this state what it is!

Full circle.

The land that shaped my childhood is ours again, after nearly 30 years of others caring for it. Now, as parents, landowners, and forestry professionals, we’re stepping into this next chapter with gratitude and purpose.

We believe forests are more than meets the eye. They’re family history, wildlife habitat, hard work, and a classroom for future generations to learn what it means to care for something bigger than themselves.

We’re honored to carry this legacy forward and can’t wait to share more of our journey with the Heritage Family Forestry community.
