Winter is fast approaching us in the Natural State. With cooler water temperatures approaching, here are a few things you can do to transition your pond to cooler weather.

- Fish slow down their feeding when the water temperatures cool off. Be sure to adjust your fish feeders so that they only feed what is eaten. As we get deeper into the winter, fish may not feed at the feeders at all. This is a great time to empty the feeder and check for any maintenance issues.

- Be sure to winterize wells and pumps to prevent them from freezing and bursting when temps get below freezing.

-If your pond has a history of aquatic vegetation issues, contact us sometime this winter to make a plan for preventing them from taking over this winter!

Fish pond management is a dynamic process. Be sure to keep an eye on things this winter!
