Editioning prints with chine colle was always so intimidating before Walker Usenza Blackwell came up with all of these amazing mounting techniques. Each day we are able to fill the drier with 40 or so perfect A1 prints all on a kozo that had been inkjet printed down to a grey. The remainder scraps were kind of beautiful and chaotic as well.

One seat has opened up for our book workshop this October 19-22. This workshop is co-taught with j carrier and Nathanael Kooperkamp Walker Usenza Blackwell in Cabot VT. Come hand print your images into photogravure on beautiful thin papers to be made into a one of a kind book. We also had a lot of fun with Nelson Chan images. A few of these will go onto having other lives for various Nelson projects. Working with a few of these as dyptichs, maybe future special variable editions and just general lovely warm neutral gravures. A few more from working with Steven B. Smith this first image was wild. We were so excited to see this one, the tones and oddity of the image came together to create such a gorgeous gravure. The geometry of this image is just astounding. Each of these was printed with a super thin gampi under the ink to make a super silky perfect print. Editioning these prints is going to be such a pleasure. Thanks again for coming up Steve, every time we are together amazing things happen.

We got to travel the world and experience so many beautiful prints this week. Exploring so many different techniques and ways of making prints, this workshop was special. Thanks again to these sensational artists we had a blast working with you. What an incredible workshop this week! Thank you so much to Fine Art Printmaking of Photogravure Prints Ann Weathersby John Voss Heather Protz Mary for making such incredible work. This was one of the most generous, prolific and print happy groups we have had in the studio in a while. The work that was made was truly inspiring. Thanks again for coming out to our studio!

Today marks 2 years of our studio doors being open. Thank you to every one who has worked with us, ordered a print, talked about prints, got inky with one of our plates, came out to the farm, saw us at a print fair, liked a picture, engaged in a conversation and just supported our small studio in the world. A huge thank you to this wonderful supportive community. We cannot wait to see all of the art that comes out of our studio in year 3.

Printing some amazing duotones on the final day with patrick. We played around with placement, color, full bleed and à la poupee inking all in one day. Patrick’s work went from 3x3” plates today to full A1 sheets. We love teaching this medium because each artist brings their own unique set of images, desires and abilities to learn just how far we can push this printing process. Thanks for making your way up Patrick, we can’t wait to work with you again!
