Be weary of companies telling you that the service lines need to removed and then lying that central Hudson charges $1000 to take the line down and put back up afterwards.
For anyone looking for tree work near service lines 98% of the time dropping the line is not needed. If its a bare line or high voltage line a boot can be placed on said line. Residential tree work is controlled work. In tight areas or trees over houses rigging of limbs and wood is performed to ensure safe removal.
For a company to say they need a service line removed makes me think they are wanting to remove the tree recklessly and fast and collect the cash.
Follow along for the removal in the fall
