Finding a rat napping next to its food source in a rodent station is not a typical. This incident represents the seventh property in the Boise area I have helped control rat infestations for, within a span of 50 days. It's clear the rat population is thriving. We're fortunate to have sealed all entry points during our first visit, and we're currently focused on baiting and monitoring. Quarterly pest control applications can aid in keeping Idaho homes clear of the Hobo Spider, which exhibits aggressive behavior when threatened, and the Black Widow, recognizable by its black body and red markings, as these services can address the spiders' habitats and prevent infestations, and since the Brown Recluse is not native to the state and prefers warmer climates, it's rarely encountered in Idaho. Winter is a great time to have your crawl space treated for spiders that are hunkered down waiting for spring.

Boise has seen the establishment of a rat presence, with Eagle and Star experiencing heightened rat activity over the past two years, and an apparent migration underway. A client reported a rat sighting at a residence near Ustick and Cloverdale, prompting the installation of bait stations and cellular trail cameras. Camera evidence revealed at least three rats. But subsequent sightings have stopped. Snap traps were set to verify complete elimination. As fall approaches, please reach out if you are experiencing rodent issues.

I had the opportunity to aid a family in Boise today, addressing a cockroach infestation within their residence. This is my second substantial cockroach job this year. Interestingly, a cockroach can endure on a glue board for 7 days prior to its demise.
