How many policies does your organization have?

Now ask a different question:

How many of them actually help people make decisions faster?

This week's IT Trends Weekly explores why organizations often respond to change by writing more policies—when what they really need is better governance.

If you've ever felt like approvals are taking longer, decisions require too many meetings, or everyone is waiting for someone else to decide, this issue was written for you.

Organizational agility comes from governance, not more policies. Learn how modern governance creates faster decisions, operational resilience, and confident leadership.

What happens when the leader everyone depends on suddenly isn't there?

A founder retires.

A CIO moves on.

A department head becomes unavailable.

Some organizations continue almost effortlessly.

Others lose momentum overnight.

The difference is rarely talent.

The difference is institutional resilience.

The strongest organizations aren't built around extraordinary people alone. They're built around governance, delegated authority, and systems designed to outlast any one leader.

Because resilience is not what an organization does well while its leader is watching.

It is what continues, intact, when no one is.

This week on IT Trends Weekly, we explore why leadership continuity may be one of the most overlooked aspects of organizational resilience.

A little nervous hitting "Publish" today.

For the first time, I put into words why I started Imperial Valley Info-Tech.

This company wasn't built overnight.

It's been built late at night after long days.
Through frustration.
Through rebuilding things that didn't work the first time.
Through countless hours trying to figure out how to do things better.

Some days have been exciting.

Some days have been exhausting.

Many days have been both.

But through it all, one philosophy kept showing up:

Trust But Verify.

It's become the foundation for how I approach cybersecurity, AI, automation, and helping businesses use technology with confidence.

I finally wrote down the story of why I started IVIT and what I hope to build.

We're just getting started.

I'd love for you to give it a read and tell me what you think.

Why I Started Imperial Valley Info-Tech I didn't start Imperial Valley Info-Tech because I wanted to own a business. I started it because I got tired of seeing businesses treated like an afterthought. For years, I've watched companies spend thousands of dollars on technology they didn't understand,....

A disruption occurs.

Teams respond.

Systems are assessed.

Vendors are contacted.

Then a simple question emerges:

Who gets to decide?

This week's IT Trends Weekly explores why many recovery efforts slow down when authority becomes unclear and why decision governance is becoming an essential component of operational resilience.

Recovery rarely stalls because of technology.

It often stalls because of uncertainty.
