Help save our history! North Adams with its scenic beauty, landmark church spires and home to immigrants fueling America's industrial revolution is being allowed to crumble! The Saint Francis Church spire has already been lost to neglect. The industrial revolution was a period of growth due to great engineering and manufacturing projects that gave opportunity and hope for an anxious immigrants. No where in the country are the buildings and spirit of that time concentrated and centered in the arms of such beautiful landscape. We need to place a value on this history and try to preserve these buildings where are grandparents and great grand parents worked and hoped inorder to bring a better life to their children. Ideas and action are needed! Stabilization of major historical sites, such as Notra Dame, is an emergency. Please contact federal, state and local officials and anyone you know to voice support. Long term, a preservation overlay plan needs to be developed. Think outside the box - maybe declare the city a new type of National Park and living history museum? PLEASE HELP before it is all ripped down!
