As Hurricane Isaias moves out of our area, we want to remind homeowners and business owners to take a little time to inspect their properties for potential storm damage.

One thing we’ve learned over the years is that not all storm damage is immediately visible. High winds and heavy rain can create problems that may go unnoticed for days or even weeks.

As the threat of severe weather approaches North Georgia, SERVPRO Team Wilson Alliance is encouraging homeowners, businesses, and our surrounding communities to take precautions TODAY, before conditions begin to deteriorate.

🟢 PROVE IT WEDNESDAY | REAL LOSS. REAL RESPONSE.

When a sewage backup affected approximately 2,000 square feet of an educational facility, getting the building back to normal operations safely and quickly was the priority.

Our team was on site within one hour of deployment and immediately went to work.

The loss affected multiple classrooms and a hallway, requiring our crews to:

✓ Extract contaminated water
✓ Pack and protect unaffected contents from cross-contamination
✓ Remove affected materials
✓ Properly clean and sanitize contaminated areas
✓ Set drying equipment and monitor affected spaces
✓ Work after hours to minimize disruption to the facility

September is National Preparedness Month, and sometimes the best reminder of why preparedness matters comes from a real loss.

Recently, our team responded to a sprinkler system failure inside a 200,000-square-foot warehouse. A single failure resulted in a massive amount of water entering the facility, threatening inventory, disrupting operations, and requiring an immediate large-scale response.

The lesson for every business: disasters don’t have to be catastrophic events to create catastrophic damage. A failed sprinkler component, broken supply line, roof leak, or equipment malfunction can quickly become a major commercial loss.

Preparedness means:

* Regularly inspecting and maintaining critical building systems
