🚨 “Mahama’s name is synonymous with DUMSOR”: Prince David Osei refuses to spare the president as he muddies his shirt over electricity
Prince David Osei has descended on President John Mahama over what he described as a return of the country's persistent electricity crisis.
He made this known in a post on X on Monday, April 27, 2026, as the actor argued that the Mahama name has become inseparable from the word “dumsor” in the minds of Ghanaians.
He referenced Mahama’s previous tenure as president, stressing that it was significantly defined by power outages, and the current administration appears to be continuing that trend.
He said, "The name Mahama has become synonymous with DUMSOR. From the 2012–2016 power crisis, which crippled homes and businesses nationwide, to 2025–2027."
According to Prince David Osei, what makes the situation even more difficult to accept is that, despite the long and well-documented history of power instability under Mahama-led administrations, electricity tariffs remain high for Ghanaians.
"Every tenure of President Mahama has been significantly marked and burdened by DUMSOR. But yet, despite this painful history and its well-documented economic and social impact, electricity tariffs are still through the roof," he noted.
He further appealed to the President, stating, "Ghanaians deserve better than this. Please, Mr. President, we deserve better."
