We are the former combat operators, program managers, test pilots, logisticians, and systems engineers who’ve felt the pain of trying to keep the warfighter armed with critical UAS technologies in the face of extended contracting cycles, expiring funds, and urgent requirements. We understand the challenges created by the rapid requirements tempo and the extended procurement process. And we know th

at non-program funding that expires rapidly and is nearly impossible to execute doesn’t just put programs at risk... It puts lives at risk. And we formed ABSI Defense because we are passionate about providing a solution.

What a great week at Warrior East!

Right after supporting another busy week of Counter-UAS testing at Yuma Proving Ground, our team headed to Virginia Beach to meet with government customers, industry partners, and others working to advance Counter-UAS test and training.

One thing became clear throughout the event:
The demand for affordable, realistic aerial target systems has never been greater.
As unmanned threats continue to evolve, organizations need target systems that are representative, scalable, and affordable enough to support frequent testing and realistic training.

We were excited to introduce Desert Lance, the newest addition to ABSI's expanding family of attritable aerial target systems. Designed to emulate another member of the Shahed family of attack drones, Desert Lance joins a growing portfolio that includes RATTLER, Pit Viper, Sky Badger, GNAT STORM, and ITAT.

We’re excited to share that ABSI Aerospace & Defense will be exhibiting at Warrior East 2026 in Virginia Beach, VA on June 24–25, hosted by ADS, Inc. .
Warrior Expo is an invitation-only two-day event focused on networking, training, and hands-on demonstrations that help mission partners—military, government, and law enforcement—connect with solutions that support readiness and capability.
At the event, we’ll be showcasing our Group 1–3 attritable, threat-representative aerial targets, built to support realistic counter-UAS test and training.

We’re excited to officially welcome Nick Slominski to ABSI Aerospace & Defense as our FIRST DoW SkillBridge Intern!

Nick joins us after an accomplished career in the United States Marine Corps, where he served in multiple leadership and operational roles supporting training, air defense, and multinational missions.

As part of ABSI’s SkillBridge Business Development Internship Program, Nick will gain experience in:
• Federal contracting & acquisition processes
• Proposal development
• Capture planning & competitive analysis
• Business development operations
• Team collaboration & proposal workflows

We’re proud to support transitioning service members as they prepare for their next mission beyond military service and look forward to seeing all Nick accomplishes during his internship.

Watching Xelevate's video from Operation Imminent Threat 2026, you see the cadets at the moment of ex*****on – drones up, throttles forward.

Here's what was happening above them.
ABSI operated as part of the opposing force (OPFOR) with Xelevate's Red Team, flying our SkyBadger UAS in threat profiles across several mission sets. Modular payloads, rapid reconfiguration, adjustable signatures – the threat picture shifted between obstacle navigation, grid search, and scene identification, forcing cadets from Norwich University, VMI, the U.S. Naval Academy, and the U.S. Air Force Academy to adapt in real time.

That's the gap we're built to close – between classroom instruction and operational reality. Far beyond simulators and slide decks. Hands on the controls, with an unpredictable adversary above them.

We just wrapped up a strong week at Warrior West!
Huge thanks to our partners at ADS, Inc. for hosting such a great event and bringing together the people working every day to support the warfighter.
Our team had the opportunity to showcase several of our aerial target systems—including the Inert Towed Aerial Target (ITAT), Gnat Storm, Sky Badger, RATTLER, and Pit Viper—and even conduct a live demo of Sky Badger towing the ITAT.
For us, it all comes back to one idea:
👉 Training should be realistic, repeatable, and affordable
That’s what drives our work in developing attritable aerial target systems that help teams train more effectively against real-world threats.
