You have always been more than a sister to me. At just 12 years old, you stepped into the role of my mother, protector, and guide. In our 20s, we became best friends. And for the last decade, you’ve been absolutely crushing Auntie life.

Despite every challenge and hurdle you’ve faced, you have remained a living example of God’s love in action — setting standards, breaking records, and shattering barriers along the way. Watching you transform from that quiet little E.O. girl into an unstoppable force — a prolific woman of strength, courage, and power with a heart full of love and light — has been one of the greatest blessings of my life.

Your list of achievements, firsts, and successes is long… but your character is what makes me the proudest. I am honored to walk beside you — and yes, even in your shadow. Mom and Grandma would be beyond proud of the woman and BOSS you have become.

Thank you for always protecting, encouraging, and loving me so fiercely. You are my forever person, and I am so grateful we get to do this life together.

I cannot wait to see what God has in store for you in this next decade. Just know — I’ll be right here, every step of the way.

While my heart aches over the sudden transition of Bishop Jackson (who I fondly called Rev), I am grateful to have witnessed firsthand the power of his calling and purpose in Christ. From childhood through adulthood, he has been a steady counselor, encourager, and a shining example of unwavering service to God and community.

To have known him is to have been impacted by his ministry. His leadership in the Civil Rights Movement and his fearless faith helped shaped the path of progress that we fight to maintain today.

I will forever be thankful for the precious memories we made recently sharing family fellowship and laughter during his time here in DC.

Continued prayers to my sis and Seth. We will all work to continue his legacy in Christ and in service to our community.

Dear Grandma,
It has been one year since your transition and there isn't a day that goes by that you aren't on my mind. This past year has been a painful fog of firsts without you. It's been so tough going through the days without your physical presence. There has been so many times that I picked up the phone to call you only to remember you are with the ancestors. 🙏🏾😢. I miss you so much but know that your spirit and life lessons live within me. Thank you for everything. Your legacy lives on. To God be the Glory!

It is with deep sadness that I share the passing of our matriarch, Naomi L. Rock. While my heart is broken, I am filled with gratitude to have had her in my life for the last 39 years. She accepted my request at the age of 4 to "be my mommy" on the day of my mother's passing,36 years ago. She raised me as a single "Grandma" and enlisted a powerful village to support her. She instilled the importance of family, god, service, learning, and excellence. Her love and guidance has been the driving force in my life and I will forever be grateful for the memories, lessons, laughs, and sacrifices. To know her was to love and respect her.

Thank you for everything Grandma, you surely were the Grandest Grandma of them all. "To God be the Glory" 💔🕊️
