One of the best things we can do as woodworkers is to share the passion for what we love with the next generation. I have been fortunate enough to develop a community of young woodworkers who also enjoy designing and building their own products.

The students represented in this post spent 180 hours throughout this last school year learning how to design and build their own creations. As well as develop mastery of new (to them) woodworking techniques and skills that they will be able to use throughout their lives.

All 50 handle sets completed. The last picture is the unit that the handles are for. It is a home coffee bean roaster. The wooden handle set will enclose a glass handle (that otherwise would get too hot to touch) and they are removable for washing.

I had to get creative to re-cut the stars after they were sanded off when flattening the piece after glue up. Maybe this jig will assist in glue up as well.

First flag is complete. I used white tinted epoxy to fill the stars. I love the bloodwood grain pattern!
