Believe it or not… I’m not perfect and I too make mistakes! 😂

I accidentally ordered a manikin that measured 2 inches larger in neck circumference than this deer called for. A combination of wanting to improve my alteration skills and not wanting to wait for a new form led me to doing some pretty sizable alterations to this wall pedestal.

After the dust settled, I think this young buck mounted up pretty darn good 🦌

56 whitetail capes, 1 lifesize whitetail, 3 elk, 2 pronghorn antelope, and 2 mule deer later.. I’m finally done measuring capes 😮‍💨

The critters in this list (plus around a dozen capes from a small tannery run) are every critter that came through my shop before gun season started. So if you brought me a mammal before gun season, it’s in there somewhere!

Next, I’ll load these capes into boxes, label those boxes with client names, and into my chest freezers they go until they’re up to the plate 🤘🏼

PS. My wife is a saint for helping me with this task and allowing me to stack animal skins chin high on the kitchen counters. Thank you, my love 😂

And just like that… my duckin days was over 😅

For the past 3 weeks it’s been nothing but duck work in the shop. With a heavy workload of antlered and horned critters, these will be the last waterfowl that make their way through my doors.

I have had countless compliments on my waterfowl mounts, but in order to maintain a decent turnaround with premier quality, I had to make this decision.

To all my past waterfowl clients, thank you! I appreciate each and every one of you.

I have 2 weeks worth of work on critters that were brought to me in the summer of 2025, then I’ll begin work on critters from last fall. Let the marathon begin! 🦌🤘🏼

Are you having me mount a bison and you drive a Volkswagen Beetle?

Perhaps I’m mounting 8 different animals for you and they won’t all fit in your truck or SUV?

This was the case for Mr. Aden. After completing 6 whitetails, an aoudad, and an elk we worked out a little drop off deal. Ashely and I took his mounts off the shop wall, loaded up the sprinter van, and brought them to his doorstep yesterday afternoon.
