College planning comes with plenty of deadlines, and FAFSA is one you don't want to leave until the last minute.

If you have a college-bound student, October is a good time to make sure your family is prepared for the FAFSA process. Each contributor needs their own StudentAid.gov account, and having tax and financial information ready can make the application easier to complete. State and school deadlines can also differ, so it's worth checking those early.
