"When it comes to patients with cancer, approximately 80% of patients are detected in the middle and advanced stages, and the 5-year survival rate of patients is less than 10%. Relevant studies have shown that the cure rate of early-stage cancer can be as high as 90%, especially for groups with a familiar inheritance of cancer, older high-risk groups, etc. Therefore, in addition to developing good living habits, early screening is very important. "

In this interview, Thomas Qiu, Senior Product Manager from BGI Genomics, talks to NewsMedical about current global cancer rates, and the importance of early cancer screening.

Equal Research Day is just around the corner and today we want to shed light on a crucial topic: the prevalent gender and race disparities in healthcare.

At AOA we spend a lot of time emphasizing the importance of health equity, particularly for women. This month we’d like to recognize the particular health inequities faced by the LGBTQ+ community.

We believe in access to affirming and supportive early cancer detection for each and every person. While we know ovarian cancer is generally thought of as a women’s cancer, it is important to note that it can affect any person with ovaries. Individuals know their bodies best – you are your best advocate in ensuring your concerns are heard and validated.

When Ezra Varley, 24, first noticed his pants weren't fitting right, he ignored it—but later, Varley, a transgender man, was diagnosed with a large ovarian tumor.
