The mortar is designed to be the sacrificial part of the system — which is why using the correct mortar when repointing matters so much. The wrong material can actually contribute to deterioration of the brick or foundation you’re trying to protect.

A small detail above your windows can turn into a much bigger masonry repair when it’s left unchecked.

These steel lintels are in good shape, but that’s not always the case — especially on buildings that have gone years without much exterior maintenance.

Summer humidity can make your doors stick, swell, and suddenly feel a little harder to open. 🍂

As we head into fall and the air starts to dry out, some of that swelling may ease up—but if a door is consistently sticking, it’s worth taking a closer look.

A little seasonal movement is normal. Not sure if it’s more than that? A consultation can help you get a better idea of what’s going on!

When I see quality workmanship, I like to point it out! 🔎🙌🏼

This is a new construction punch list inspection, and I have to give a shoutout to the plumber. A clean, organized manifold isn’t just satisfying to look at—it also makes the system easier to understand and service down the road 🎊

Good tradespeople make everyone’s job easier, and it’s always worth recognizing great work when you see it.

Cedar roofs look great, but they arent a "set it and forget it" roof 🌲

They are known for their aesthetic and craftsmanship, but they also age differently than other types of roofs like asphalt.

Here’s a behind-the-scenes look at a flipped condo inspection 🏡

A lot of my time is spent checking areas that aren’t visible during a typical walkthrough, documenting concerns, and putting together a report with recommendations for my clients.

In this case, I was evaluating conditions beneath the rear portion of the home and noting a few items for the client to discuss with the builder.

Every inspection is different, but the goal is always the same: helping clients understand the home they’re buying 🤝🏡🔎
