In partnership with patients, healthcare professionals, and scientists, Hemab is raising awareness about rare bleeding and clotting disorders, while urgently working to develop better treatment options. Based in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and Copenhagen, Denmark, Hemab is focused on transforming the standard of care for patients with these serious, underserved conditions. The company is advancing a pipeline of innovative therapeutics aimed at addressing high unmet needs in blood clotting disorders like Glanzmann Thrombasthenia (GT), factor VII deficiency, Bernard-Soulier Syndrome, and Von Willebrand Disease. At Hemab, we are dedicated to advancing treatments for rare bleeding disorders. We are actively enrolling in a Phase 2 clinical trial of HMB-001, a subcutaneous injection designed to restore clot formation impaired by GT. The study seeks volunteers aged 18 to 65 with a confirmed or suspected diagnosis of GT to evaluate HMB-001’s potential to reduce bleeds. Every person living with a platelet disorder has a story worth hearing.

On Sport Purple for Platelets Day, we stand with the platelet-disorders community to raise awareness and recognition for people living with these conditions.

For people living with Glanzmann thrombasthenia (GT), an inherited platelet function disorder, bleeding can be a frequent and ongoing part of daily life. In the GT360 study, 88% of respondents reported at least one bleed in the previous week, highlighting the significant burden on patients and families.

Awareness is a starting point. Meaningful progress requires continued attention, research, and innovation.

At Hemab, we are committed to advancing therapies for coagulation disorders and helping drive better outcomes for lived experience experts, families, and the broader bleeding disorders community.

For far too long, people living with underserved bleeding disorders have been told to make do with treatments that weren't built for them and changing that takes more than great science, it takes strong leadership at every level, including the boardroom. That's why we're excited to welcome Keli Walbert to Hemab's Board of Directors.

Keli brings nearly two decades of commercial leadership in rare disease, most recently as EVP, U.S. Commercial at Horizon Therapeutics, where she helped scale the company's rare disease portfolio from roughly $300M to nearly $4B in annual sales, including the launch of TEPEZZA and the relaunch of UPLIZNA, ahead of Horizon's $28B acquisition by Amgen. Earlier, she held leadership roles at AbbVie, Abbott, and UnitedHealthcare. She currently serves on the board of Spruce Biosciences and previously served on the board of Apellis Pharmaceuticals through its acquisition earlier this year.

As we work to bring long-overdue treatments to this overlooked community, Keli's experience strengthens the leadership guiding us there.

Advancing underserved bleeding disorder research takes collaboration.

Hemab is currently enrolling participants for a Phase 2b clinical trial evaluating sutacimig, an investigational therapy designed to increase Factor VII levels and support the body's ability to form clots in people living with Factor VII deficiency (FVIID).

We're proud to announce that the first healthy volunteer has been dosed in its Phase 1 clinical trial evaluating HMB-003, an investigational therapy for the management of heavy menstrual bleeding.

Heavy menstrual bleeding is reported in approximately 1 in 3 reproductive-aged women, yet too many are told what they’re experiencing is “normal,” leading to delayed diagnosis, disrupted daily life, and under-treated symptoms.

HMB-003 is a novel fatty-acid-conjugated peptide antifibrinolytic, designed to stabilize clots and reduce bleeding. It directly inhibits plasmin at its active site, blocking fibrinolysis independently of the plasminogen activation pathway.

Most people think better healthcare begins with a new medicine.

Often, it begins earlier with someone who can make a complicated situation feel understandable.

For people living with overlooked bleeding disorders, that person is often a nurse: someone who translates clinical language, spots the questions that were not asked, and helps patients and families find their footing in an unpredictable care journey.

Emma Baker knows this from both sides. As a nurse living with Von Willebrand disease (VWD) and Vice Chair at the VWD Alliance, her experience has shaped her advocacy for others.

At Hemab, our “All Patients Matter” philosophy means recognizing that progress is not only about scientific innovation. It is also about the people who make care more human along the way.

At Hemophilia Treatment Centers (HTCs), nurses are central to the patient experience.

They guide patients and families through the day-to-day realities of living with a bleeding disorder, from education and treatment support to care coordination and urgent triage.

But their impact goes even further. HTC nurses play a vital role in clinical research, helping patients understand what participation involves, coordinating study-related care, and serving as a consistent, trusted connection between patients, families, care teams, and research.

Their expertise, compassion, and advocacy help bring care and science closer to the people they are meant to serve.

Living with Factor VII deficiency (FVIID)? Your participation could help unlock a future with more treatment options.

FVIID is an inherited bleeding disorder that occurs when the body has too little working Factor VII (FVII), a protein that helps start the blood-clotting process.

Hemab is enrolling a Phase 2b clinical study of sutacimig, a subcutaneously administered investigational therapy for adults living with congenital FVIID.
