The Salvation Army, an international movement, is an evangelical part of the universal Christian church. Its message is based on the Bible. Its ministry is motivated by the love of God. Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination.

Our Place is a day care center for homeless children in Central Square, Cambridge. The day care serves 46 homeless children, ages 0-5. As the first licensed day care center for homeless children in MA, Our Place pioneered advocacy for family homelessness. While their children receive love and stability at the day care, parents can be assured their children are safe and have the opportunity to seek out job opportunities, permanent housing, education, or alternative training. Our mission is to lift families to self-sufficiency while also publicizing the realities of family homelessness.
