👀 A new MERGE member is coming soon…

We’re excited to welcome **Soul of Medicine Medical Training Center** and CEO Caprice Warren to the MERGE community at The Packing House!

Established in 2017, Soul of Medicine is focused on helping people take the next step in their healthcare careers through **professional, affordable continuing healthcare education and hands-on training** — including CPR and First Aid training through their partnership with Heart to Heart.

Soul of Medicine is also partnered with Dwyer Workforce Development, furthering their mission to equip individuals with the training, skills and confidence they need to pursue meaningful careers in healthcare.

Their work is about more than education — it’s about creating pathways to opportunity and helping people build careers that can change their lives. That mission fits perfectly with what we hope to foster through MERGE.

We’ll be sharing much more about Caprice, Soul of Medicine, and what they’ll be bringing to The Packing House soon.

🍽️ **Regular lunch hours are coming to The Packing House!**

Beginning **next Thursday**, Bayside Bistro will be serving lunch from **12:00–3:00 PM every Thursday and Friday** at The Kitchen at The Packing House!

👨‍🍳 Chef Aaron has curated a wonderful opening menu, and we can’t wait for you to stop in, grab a bite, and enjoy a meal with a little historic Packing House charm.

Bayside Bistro may be the first to offer lunch on a consistent weekly schedule, but they’re just one of the many talented food businesses and entrepreneurs working out of **The Kitchen at The Packing House**.

So stay tuned right here! We’ll be sharing more about the businesses cooking in The Kitchen, upcoming pop-ups, specials, and additional opportunities to enjoy some great local food.

✨ Meet Ted & Eve – the newest members of the MERGE community at The Packing House!

We're excited to welcome VIC Cotton Cloth Company to MERGE, where they're building the next chapter of a truly remarkable business.

When Ted Peterson purchased VIC Cotton Cloth Company in early 2024, it wasn't because he was looking for a new business—it was because he loved the product so much that he couldn't bear to see it disappear.

Together with Eve, who spent 15 years in the technology industry working with companies like Walmart and Capital One before transitioning into consumer packaged goods, they're breathing new life into a brand with an incredible history.
So...what exactly is VIC?

VIC produces an artisan exfoliating cloth, woven from natural materials in the Netherlands. But behind this simple cloth is a story spanning more than 80 years.

The name VIC comes from "Victory," tracing its roots back to World War II when the fabric was originally produced as medical cotton gauze. After the war, only one of the original weaving mills remained, preserving the unique textile tradition. Eventually, the fabric made its way to the United States, where it became a beloved facial and body exfoliating cloth with an incredibly loyal following.
When the business disappeared from the market for nearly eight years, customers never forgot it—including Ted.

Determined to bring it back, Ted acquired the VIC trademark and worked directly with the original textile experts in the Netherlands. Using an original vintage cloth under a microscope, they painstakingly recreated the distinctive weave—preserving everything longtime customers loved while making it even better.

The journey became even more meaningful as Ted's daughter, Ida, courageously battled terminal leukemia. Her encouragement inspired him to keep moving forward, and today her legacy lives on through the Ida Impact Fund, which supports leukemia and blood cancer organizations through quarterly donations, helping both families and research efforts.

It's a beautiful reminder that sometimes businesses become about much more than the products they sell.

Today, VIC Cloths are available through Shopify and Amazon, and we're proud that this growing company has chosen MERGE at The Packing House as its home base.
