Anniversary Sale :D
3 years ago today I released the adult 'What Wind' hat and coordinating Women's Infinity/Men's Scarf, I later released the youth version of the hat ;) This hat does a spectacular job of blocking the cold winter wind!!! Actually it was designed as a challenge from my son (pictured top right) as he requested a hat that did not allow wind through ;) I use this pattern often to make hats/scarves for lots of charitable giving, as well as gifting and sales; as it truly is a super warm hat :D
Ironically, today as I was out doing some shopping I was wearing my original women's What Wind hat (pictured top left). At a local store, I parked at the back edge of the lot (as I always do unless my SN son is with me ;) ). While I was putting bags into my car I looked over and seen a lady who was obviously down on her luck and obviously very cold :/ I happened to have a 'batch' of our 'Angel bags' in my trunk as the boys and I will place this 'batch' this evening ;) I struck up a conversation with this lady and eventually told her I had something for her (I proceeded to open the trunk and select an Angel bag appropriate for a female - feminine hat/scarf colors ;) ) and gave it to her. She looked inside the bag and instantly tears were streaming down her face. I could see the happiness in her eyes as she realized that along with something warm to put on she also had a small supply of food and a gift card so that she could get a hot meal. Of course she expressed her thanks, then she said "Can I ask something please?". I told her absolutely ;) She then asked, in a very timid voice, if she could exchange the hat in the bag for the one on my head, she also stated that she wasn't being ungrateful but she really liked my hat ;) Without hesitation, I took the hat from my head and handed it to her telling her that she now had 2 hats to keep her warm
