Microsoft recently stopped a major ransomware campaign and it all started with fake Microsoft Teams installers.

Hackers used look-alike websites and signed installers to trick users into downloading malware instead of Teams, opening the door to data theft and ransomware. Microsoft shut it down by revoking hundreds of certificates, but it’s a strong reminder of how realistic modern attacks have become.

The takeaway?
Even trusted tools can be weaponized.

✅ Download software only from official sources
✅ Keep systems and security tools up to date
✅ Train employees to question anything that looks “almost right”

Cyber threats keep evolving and awareness is still one of the strongest defenses.

81% of people now use AI at work, and over half use it daily. AI is officially mainstream…but here’s the twist: senior leaders say they trust AI output more than the work of junior employees. Some even say managing AI would be easier than managing people.

That’s a huge shift.

Junior staff often feel judged for using AI, worrying it makes them look “lazy.” But AI doesn’t make people lazy, it makes them faster. The real question isn’t whether to use AI, but how we build trust around it.

To get this right, companies need:
✅ Clear guidelines for responsible AI use
✅ Training that builds confidence
✅ A culture where smart tools = smart work

Businesses that crack this will build stronger, more productive teams and gain a serious competitive edge.

Would you trust an AI agent as much as a junior employee? Or is that a step too far?

Shadow AI is the new cybersecurity blind spot. 👀

Your team might be using AI tools you don’t even know about. Not to be sneaky, but to get work done faster.
The problem? When employees paste company or customer info into public AI tools, that data could leave your organization forever.

AI isn’t the issue. Uncontrolled AI is.

To stay protected:
✅ Provide approved, secure AI tools
✅ Train your team on safe usage
✅ Set clear rules on what’s okay to share

Do you know which AI tools your team is using right now?

Cybercriminals have found a new way to hide inside Zoom and Teams calls and it's called Ghost Calls. 👻
Attackers can hijack meeting credentials and secretly tunnel data out of your network… all while blending in as normal video call traffic.
Even the tools we trust most can be abused once attackers get a foothold.
This is your reminder: endpoint security, behavioral monitoring, and least-privilege access matter. Is your team prepared to spot the unusual before it becomes a breach?

Ransomware is getting smarter and some variants can now turn off your defenses before they even attack. 😬

Take Akira ransomware, which has been hitting the news lately. Once attackers get into a system (often through outdated SonicWall VPNs), Akira can actually disable Microsoft Defender using a sneaky “bring-your-own-vulnerable-driver” attack. With protections off, it’s free to encrypt files and lock businesses out of their own data.

The good news? It’s not a widespread outbreak. Fewer than 40 confirmed cases so far. But the bigger message is clear: even trusted built-in tools can be bypassed if attackers find a way in.

This is why layered security matters.
✔️ Endpoint protection
✔️ MFA
✔️ Patching
✔️ Strong credential hygiene

If Microsoft Defender suddenly switched off across your devices…
How quickly would you notice?

Here’s a scary thought: What if cybercriminals could turn off your security before it even defends you?

That’s exactly what’s happening. Ransomware groups are now sharing tools that can disable Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR), the guard dogs of your network. Even big names like Sophos, Bitdefender, and Kaspersky have been targeted.

🧠 Here’s how to stay protected:
🔒 Turn on tamper protection in your endpoint security
🚫 Limit admin rights to reduce attacker access
🔁 Keep software and drivers updated

Cybercriminals never stop evolving. Neither should your defenses.
When was the last time you double-checked your security settings? 👀
