Paul is being discharged from the hospital today! Just amazing to see how God has moved in Paul’s battle with cancer.

They still have to hang around the area for follow up appointments and all the things.

Please continue to pray for a good recovery and his family that is back home taking care of the boys.

We are so appreciative for all the prayers! God is so good!

he recovers well with no issues.

Update on Paul -

He will have surgery tomorrow. Please pray that all goes according to God’s plan and Paul recovers well from the surgery. And if you would also pray peace and calmness over Kelley, the boys and the rest of Paul’s family. We are extremely grateful for all of you following Paul’s story and the support. God is in control and He is directing the next steps.ovtl

From Kelley today:

Preliminary results from the doctor are that his liver pressure is normal!!!!! All praise to our mighty, awesome God!!! I’ll update once I have more information and have seen him!!!

Kelley’s update on Paul from yesterday:

We want to update all of our prayer warriors and friends. Right before we left for Vanderbilt we were notified that if everything went good at the appointment this morning, Paul would have exploratory surgery on Monday to see if there is any cancer in his abdomen that’s not showing up on the scans. We met with the surgeon today and she is going to look around in his belly Monday. If there are no other areas of cancer (than what we already know about), they will try to get him in for a procedure to check how his liver is doing with the liver specialist. These 2 procedures are very important to determine whether he can have surgery to remove the remaining cancer (now that his liver is cleared from cancer). We still have a lot of unanswered questions about what the plan will be going forward but we know God has a plan. He has put us with a fantastic medical team and we know He is with us every step of this journey. Please pray for good results on the exploratory surgery (no cancer spots that we didn’t know about) and also that his liver procedure will show his liver is healthy enough to undergo a bigger surgery.

We have a mighty healer and know he can move mountains. We walk by faith and have faith in God’s healing power. We appreciate everyone’s prayers and support. We are so blessed to have so many people praying for us and helping out as we navigate ever changing situations. The next week will give us more information into what our future looks like and guide ongoing treatments. Please pray big prayers for great test results.

We have not posted in awhile, but this is the latest update on Paul from his wife, Kelley. Please continue to keep them in your daily prayers:

I know I haven’t posted an update in awhile so I wanted to share a few prayer requests and what we have coming up. Paul is still getting maintenance chemotherapy to keep the cancer from spreading while we see what the histotripsy did for his liver spots and to let his liver heal from the harder chemo he was getting. Even though he is struggling with his platelets being low he was still able to get chemo today. Last scans did not show any cancer left in the original colon tumor and some big improvements in the other areas. We go back to Vanderbilt at the end of the month for scans and to see what the oncologist thinks we should do next. Right now our challenge is keeping his blood counts, mostly platelets, up so he can continue getting treatment. Meanwhile, I’m struggling to get him to chill out some while he’s still out farming, working, and coaching baseball. I’m amazed every day by his attitude and his ability to keep going.
We are blessed every day by so many people and are thankful for all the prayers. Yesterday our recliner broke and the gentleman who delivered our new recliner from Newman’s Furniture in Elgin today was wonderful. He insisted on praying for Paul who had just got back from chemo after he got the new chair in the house. I would definitely recommend them if you need any new furniture (they’re always our go to).
We appreciate everyone who keeps praying for us and we have several friends who are in similar positions that we are also praying so hard for. We have an awesome God and have faith that his plan is good.
