A historic milestone is underway at Palisades: the plant has begun the process of loading nuclear fuel into its reactor vessel, marking another major step toward becoming America’s first shuttered nuclear power plant to return to operation.

Following more than two years of extensive work, the Palisades team remains focused on the testing and startup activities required for a safe and reliable return to service.

Holtec is pleased to announce the successful completion of HI-STAR 150 Cask Units 16 and 17 for Spain’s Cofrentes Nuclear Power Plant.

Completed under an expedited manufacturing schedule and ahead of the contractual delivery dates, this critical milestone will provide Cofrentes with valuable schedule margin to support continued plant operations.

The achievement reflects months of proactive planning and exceptional collaboration across Holtec’s Manufacturing Divisions, Procurement and Engineering teams, working closely with our partners at ENRESA. Together, the teams met an exceptionally tight timeline while maintaining an unwavering commitment to safety, quality, and compliance.

Holtec has received a Nuclear Energy Institute Top Innovative Practice Award for communications and stakeholder engagement supporting the restart of the Palisades Nuclear Plant.

The award recognizes the work undertaken to build and maintain strong relationships with our communities, elected officials, industry partners, and other stakeholders throughout this historic effort.

Returning Palisades to service has required the support and commitment of many people across Southwest Michigan and beyond. We’re honored to see this collective effort acknowledged by our industry and grateful to everyone who has been part of the journey.

Today, Holtec was honored to join the Camden City School District’s Enrollment Fair Extravaganza and help local students prepare for a successful school year! 🎒📚✏️

Thanks to the generosity of our associates during Holtec’s annual Back-to-School Supply Drive, students received school supplies collected throughout the drive, along with bookbags generously donated by Holtec’s NAYGN Chapter.

Carla Floyd-Watkins, Onkar Patil, and Cynthia Serrano were on site connecting with families and helping distribute the bookbags and supplies to students in our community.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to support our neighbors and help students head into the new school year prepared and excited to learn!
