The US Department of Agriculture's “Community Facilities Direct Loan & Grant Program” provides funding to develop essential community facilities in rural areas. An "essential community facility" is defined as a facility that provides an essential service to the local community for the orderly development of that community. This does not include private, commercial, or business undertakings. For this program, "rural" is defined as a city, village, township, or town with no more than 20,000 residents. Funding can be used to purchase, construct, and/or improve essential community facilities, purchase equipment, and pay related project expenses.

Loan Amount: No maximum loan limit. (Previous projects ranged from $50,000 to tens of millions)

The Aubrey Group is proud to highlight our new Grants Research Analyst summer interns. Janelle Bonas and Abby Thomas have both been wonderful additions to our team this summer. Janelle is a rising senior and incoming master's candidate at Rowan University studying Criminal Justice and Philosophy on a pre-law track. She is a returning AG intern with interests in juvenile justice reform and mental health policy. Abby is an incoming 1L at Rutgers Law School and graduated from Rowan University in 2025 with a B.A. in English and Political Science.
