She first found out about Country Maid and the Butter Braid Pastry when she lived in West Bend Iowa, which is where Country Maid first began. She then moved to Pennsylvania and wanted to become a Butter Braid Pastry dealer. She started the business around 1998 and named it Freckled Moose Fundraising. She choose that name because she wanted a cute and catchy name and she also loved moose. When Jean

moved into the area, she met Pam Hagerich at a hair salon, and Pam started to help around 1999/2000. Jean passed away in 2010, and the Hagerich family acquired the business. Pam’s husband Don joined the team. Her son Drew joined part time in 2011 and in 2013, he joined full time. In 2019, Drew became the new owner and his wife Ellen joined the team. Over the years, we have helped countless groups raise money for their fundraisers. When we first started, we were using our own freezers to store the products and used our own cars for deliveries. We have added a warehouse with many huge freezers to store the products and now even have a Freckled Moose truck. Just recently, we bought a van with a freezer unit to deliver your pastries. Throughout all the growth and change, our mission has always been to help as many groups as possible raise money for their fundraiser.
