Part of what I enjoy about designing gardens is also designing unique structures for it. This arbor from the front picks up on the front upper facade of the custom greenhouse we built for this client. I design gardens both in person and virtually. Contact me for a free preliminary session.

Coughton Court is a very unique garden and one I love taking people to on my garden tours. It's the ancestral home of the Throckmortins and the gardens in this form are the brainchild of Christina Williams. She is the Mother of current owner/resident Magnus Birch-Throckmorton and his wife Imogen also called Emmy.

While many parts of the garden have the traditional perennial borders and the like, it's the rose garden that sets it apart. Christina called it a rose labyrinth because the paths are not straight and they are not positioned along axes. Instead they wind in and out all through the walled rose garden. I call it the "garden of you can't get there from here". It's an apt description as this garden defies the rules and instead plays with you via delightful abandon. Come join me on one of my tours.
