Northeast Inspection

Northeast Inspection 3rd generation in the flooring industry with 30 plus years of installation experience and owning a flooring retail center. What is a floor inspector?

We purchased Northeast Inspection Services in May of 2015. The perfect blend of quality installations and superior inspections A floor inspector's job is to compare the local indoor environment, the installation, maintenance, product specification, and product performance parameters against the applicable manufacturer and industry Standards. It can thus be determined why the product is not meeting

consumer expectations and whose responsibility this would be. He may occasionally be called on to make a recommendation as to whether or how the issue could be minimized or repaired. Sometimes tests can be performed on the product at the inspection, other times a sample can be sent to an accredited laboratory to compare its performance with appropriate Standards. After the evidence is assembled and analyzed, a report is generated and submitted to the commissioning party. At that point, if all parties with an interest in the claim are looking for the truth and a satisfactory outcome, it’s usually fairly easy to obtain a satisfactory conclusion. In the rare instances where there is not agreement, a consumer, if they have been the one to hire the inspection, may choose to pursue mediation or perhaps appear in Small Claims Court. The hope is that the evidence will be clear-cut and persuasive, thus avoiding a confrontational situation. What if the retailer or the manufacturer wants to send someone to look at the floor covering issue? The store may well send an installation trouble-shooter or a salesperson; it would be rare for either of these individuals to have comprehensive training in inspection procedures and applicable standards. They may be present to see if this is a blatant installation defect, and if so, the claim may end with their taking responsibility and satisfying the claim. In most cases, however, it still requires an independent third-party inspector to determine in an unbiased manner what is happening with the floor covering and who is responsible.
