A great reminder from NCEM - remember, just because it doesn't happen often (or hasn't yet happened), does NOT mean it WON'T happen or have an impact on you, your family, or your operations.

This is why you MUST plan off of deliberate all-hazards analysis, carefully stacked by Probabilities and Impacts - this is what PCS does and will coach your organization to do culturally moving forward.

🪇 Shake Shake Shake? ❓ Did you feel that? We have had a few small earthquakes in North Carolina over the last few days. No damages, but a good opportunity to remember earthquake safety tips!

📌 6/13: 1.7 magnitude, located 5.3 miles outside of Hazelwood, NC. (Haywood Co)
📌 6/12: 2.1 magnitude, located 5.1 miles southwest of Canton, NC (Haywood Co)
📌 6/12: 1.6 magnitude, located 7.1 miles southeast of Waynesville, NC (Haywood Co)
📌 6/8: 1.7 magnitude, located near Weaverville, NC (Buncombe Co)

✔️ If an earthquake happens, protect yourself right away.
✔️ If you are inside, stay and do not run outside; avoid doorways.
✔️ If you are in bed, turn face down and cover your head and neck with a pillow.
✔️ If you are in a car, pull over and stop. Set your parking brake.
✔️ If you're outside, stay there.

Imminent rolling and electrical grid failures? What we are seeing the U.S. Southeast this week in particular - Duke Energy requesting (and getting) authorization to run power generation to maximum capacity regardless of existing limitations, with the U.S. Energy Department then issuing an emergency order to allow it.

This all happens as other areas such as under PJM Interconnection, etc. are all experiencing a rapid surge in summer heat and accompanying power demand and scrambling to accommodate. However, the real risk to our grid does not lie just in the heat forecast but in its nexus with all-hazards and manmade threats. During times of decreased “buffering” capacity, ALL grid components become dramatically increased in their criticality, and vulnerability. But which, where, and how to protect them?

Do your existing processes take this into consideration? Layering in the variables of heat, thunderstorms, accidents, and hostile actors for a full hazard picture? Are they vertically integrated with the E-Sector elements both above and below you, both private and public? No, they don’t, and because most have no idea how to do this – but PCS does.

A core part of Preparedness for multiple echelons within is retaining, or investing in, tangible assets that will have uneroded value in times of crisis. Proper advisement (NOT blogging “experts”) can help guide you to the right assets, but a universal one will always be in the precious metals market – and now is a crucial time to act on this.

At PCS we recommend anyone to use Miles Franklin | Precious Metals Investments for the best value and experience in metals investments, whether big or small, or new or experienced. And now is the time to do so – with the current geopolitical dynamics globally, especially with the conflict status, the current “dip” in metals pricing will soon end. There is plenty of economic research and studies, especially lately, supporting this and including the inverse -oil pricing relationship during crisis periods.

As conflict stability prevails, the energy markets will likely begin to recover and your ideal opportunity for metals investment will vanish and you’ll be back to paying YTD peak values or higher! Prepare today.

Today starts , do your security and preparedness plans incorporate All-Hazards? Do your mitigations and even response efforts take into consideration the impacts of natural hazard events, and in a measured and not guessed process?

Almost all don’t. They stay stove piped without understanding the intertwined effects, or lack the statistical measuring needed to validate hazards. If you want your infrastructure, organization, processes, and even families to be effectively secured – you need advisement that incorporates every layer of hazards in today’s changing world. Get Ready before it is too late to do so – contact us today, [email protected].

Ever since the devastation of in , PCS has stood firmly behind our home and HQ’d communities – last night into today we have been closely tracking the significant rainfall that occurred in the too-familiar named areas of , , and nearby areas with significant damage.

As a part of our standing special mission for charitable rapid when needed to protect life & property from the unexpected – we are geared up and ready to support targeted needs as they arise. We are imminently focused on hazards that exceed the resources of from rapid rising waters, especially as rain continues over the next several days, and any isolated persons with critical unmet needs.

As we continue our daily mission of supporting and , we are carefully monitoring the situation to support as needed, and are coordinating with our sister organizations who are also sadly too familiar and experienced with these situations. In the meantime, we ask for prayers for the impacted WNC communities who are only now STARTING to bounce back from Helene (no matter what outside media may tell you).

This Memorial Day, PCS pauses to remember our fallen heroes that gave it all for all of us. As a veteran-owned, and majority veteran-manned, company we remember in a deeply personal way our comrades that did not come home with us.

On this day, veterans do not want to be thanked for service. We do not want boisterous parties and ridiculousness. We do not want a “happy” holiday wish. We want a Memorable Memorial Day – one where we all reflect on those we lost, on the loved ones they left behind. We want you to enjoy the family and friends you get to be around, a right earned FOR you through the blood of brave men and women throughout our country’s history – it’s not a right to be ashamed of, but it is a right to remember in the right context.

Here, every one of us will hold our loved ones tight, play some games with them, absolutely throw something on the grill and have a beer – but at the table there will be an inverted glass as there is no toast to be shared with our lost friends. There will be a slice of lemon for the bitterness, and a pinch of salt for the tears shed, and a chair will remain empty. There will be a Bible to represent the strength gained through faith to sustain us and those lost from our country, founded as one nation under God.

To our fallen comrades: until we meet again, rest easy in the light of God’s glory and enjoy Fiddler’s Green. You are never forgotten. We’ll see you at the top of the hill.

Rooted in early American tradition, the first National Day of Prayer was called by the Continental Congress in 1775 to seek wisdom during the nation's formation.

Today, we hope everyone was able to pause and turn to the Lord in prayer. Pray for our nation, for its leaders, and for a spiritual renewal across our country – now as much as ever we all need it.
