Yesterday was a hot one… but it was definitely a day well spent! 🔥🚒

Our crew had the pleasure of joining our neighbors at Arnaudville Volunteer Fire Department for their annual Blackpot Cook-Off. It was a great day filled with great food, fellowship, music, friendly competition, and the kind of community spirit that reminds us why we do what we do.

A huge thank you to Menard's Southern Specialty and processing for hooking us up with the best fresh sausage around! We appreciate you helping our crew cook up something delicious.

We also want to thank Church Point Vfd for joining our crew for the water fights! 💦🚒 Events like these are more than just fun — they’re a reminder of how important mutual aid and strong relationships between departments are. When emergencies happen, communities depend on fire departments supporting one another, and that same support is built through days like this.

Thank you to Mr. Eric C. White for joining us. We always enjoy your company!

Last but not least, a big shoutout to our crews, Roux Team 4 and Mosquito Squad for cooking down and representing Coulee Croche Firefighters Association & Coulee Croche Fire Protection District 4!

🚒❤️🦟 A Full Circle Moment 🦟❤️🚒

Last night, as our crew and their families were unpacking from a beautiful day of royalty, we gathered around the station for one of our greatest cultural traditions…sharing stories.

This department’s stories have always been written by families — those who serve, those who support, and those who stand beside them. From the very beginning, it has been about people coming together, serving alongside one another, and creating memories that last for generations.

Before we knew it, an old album was pulled out, and tucked inside was an article that stopped us in our tracks…

“Cankton All Abuzz With Firefighters’ Activities” the headline read.

In that moment, it felt like the firefighters and families who came before us were giving us a nod — a reminder that the heart of this department has always been the same.

The names may change, the years may pass, but the mission remains.

Together we stand.

As you celebrate our nation's independence, we also want to recognize the dedicated volunteer firefighters who help protect our communities—not just today, but every day. Your support of the Louisiana Mosquito Festival helps benefit the Coulee Croche Firefighters Association, and we're grateful for everyone who helps make that possible.

As you enjoy today's festivities, keep safety in mind:
🎆 Leave fireworks to responsible adults and follow all local laws.
🔥 Keep a bucket of water or a hose nearby when using fireworks or grilling.
🚒 Never leave a grill or fire pit unattended.
