🚒❤️🦟 A Full Circle Moment 🦟❤️🚒

Last night, as our crew and their families were unpacking from a beautiful day of royalty, we gathered around the station for one of our greatest cultural traditions…sharing stories.

This department’s stories have always been written by families — those who serve, those who support, and those who stand beside them. From the very beginning, it has been about people coming together, serving alongside one another, and creating memories that last for generations.

Before we knew it, an old album was pulled out, and tucked inside was an article that stopped us in our tracks…

“Cankton All Abuzz With Firefighters’ Activities” the headline read.

In that moment, it felt like the firefighters and families who came before us were giving us a nod — a reminder that the heart of this department has always been the same.

The names may change, the years may pass, but the mission remains.

Together we stand.

We may have gotten a little ambitious with the jambalaya for today’s pageant. 😂 So if you’re looking for something good to eat, come see us!

You do NOT have to be attending the pageant to stop by and purchase food. We’ll be selling at:

Happy Fourth of July from the Louisiana Mosquito Festival! ❤️🤍💙

As you celebrate our nation's independence, we also want to recognize the dedicated volunteer firefighters who help protect our communities—not just today, but every day. Your support of the Louisiana Mosquito Festival helps benefit the Coulee Croche Firefighters Association, and we're grateful for everyone who helps make that possible.

As you enjoy today's festivities, keep safety in mind:
🎆 Leave fireworks to responsible adults and follow all local laws.
🔥 Keep a bucket of water or a hose nearby when using fireworks or grilling.
🚒 Never leave a grill or fire pit unattended.
✨ Be mindful of dry grass and dispose of fireworks only after they're completely cooled.

ATTENTION SLEMCO MEMBERS
Y’all ever seen firefighters try to drag hoses, rescue gear, and equipment through mud, fields, festival grounds, and places trucks can’t reach?

Well… we’re trying to fix that.

The Coulee Croche Firefighters Association is competing for a SLEMCO grant to get a SIDE-BY-SIDE UTILITY VEHICLE and we need YOUR vote to make it happen!

This bad boy would help our volunteers:
• Reach off-road emergencies faster
• Respond to hard-to-access rescue calls
• Provide standby coverage at community events
• Support firefighting and rescue operations all across the parish and surrounding Parishes
And trust us… our volunteers stay BUSY.
You’ve probably seen our crews at:
