POSITION: Caregiver Companion
• Job Type: Part Time/Full Time
• Starting Salary: $10.00/hour
• Employer Type: Non-medical Home Care Agency
• Travel Required: Within 50-mile radius
• Work Location: Wayne and Oakland Counties

SCHEDULE:
o Monday to Friday
o Weekends
o Day Shift
o Evening Shift
o On Call

IDEAL CANDIDATE:
o Compassionate – driven to provide social and emotional support, devotes self to the welfare of others, and treats seniors like a member of his/her own family
o Communication skills – retains active listening skills, takes the time to speak effectively, and proactively collaborates with team for the benefit of the client
o Trustworthy and Reliable – dedicated to meeting and exceeding professional duties with a sense of altruism, is honest to a fault, and has a principled work ethic
o Patient – sensitive to senior’s needs, understanding of others’ perspectives, and works hard to build strong client-family bonds

RESPONSIBILITIES:
o Provide non-medical in-home care in the form of Activities of Daily Living, Instrumental Activities of Daily Living, and Companionship and Enrichment Activities as described by the individual plan of care. This includes but is not limited to
- Dressing
- Bathing
- Meal preparation
- Light house cleaning
- Transportation to visit family and friends
- Arts and crafts
o Act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency
o Maintain strict confidentiality of client, family, and caregiver information
o Maintain good personal hygiene and must be neat in appearance

Ability to
o Perform tasks involving physical activity, which may include heavy lifting and extensive bending and standing
o Work assigned hours per week
o Lift up to 50+ pounds
o Work in stressful environment
o Drive up to 50+ miles per day
o Assess and communicate with ill clients, co-workers, and general public
o Read, write, follow instructions and complete training for understanding needs of populations served

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Education: High School Diploma or GED
• Experience: 1 year of relevant experience preferred
• License/Certification: Valid Driver’s License and Car Insurance
• Work Location: Wayne, Oakland, and Washtenaw Counties
• Hours per week: 20 – 40
• Must pass criminal background check
• Reliable transportation
