Last Friday, I walked onto the Falany Performing Arts Center stage….

My own backyard.

The Cherokee County Leadership Symposium put me on a lineup with Ryan Hazelwood, author and storyteller. Alan Gotthardt, author and investment advisor. And Congressman Barry Loudermilk .

{I checked my notes 3 extra times.}

Your people read your nervous system before they read your strategy.

They know Thursday-“you” is running on fumes.

They knew it before you did.

Because when pressure gets high, people don’t just hear what a leader says.

They feel what a leader brings into the room.

Panic speeds us up.
Fear shrinks our thinking.
Pressure makes small decisions feel urgent.

So before I lead anybody else, sometimes I have to lead myself.

What I steadied myself with this morning:

> Everything works in my favor.
> I am strengthened by Him.
> I live by faith, not by sight.
> I have a sound mind.
> I walk by faith

The room doesn’t need a perfect version of me.

It needs a grounded one.

What am I actually going to DO with any of this?

Flew home from Oklahoma City with 47 pages of notes and this ONE uncomfortable question.

Y'all, conferences are so easy to enjoy and so easy to forget. I'm inspired for three days. Then Monday shows up and swallows the whole thing.

But with GiANT Worldwide community is like NON-OTHER. It's family, friends, co-workers, OGs & newbies. We're all transformation makers, change makers, and world changers. Yes - I said it because we ARE. We have the best methodology and supporting arsenal of tools to equip us with the HOW to fight FOR the highest good in those you lead.

Just ONE thing out of those 47 pages, on the calendar this week, before the highlighter ink dries. It's the standard I hold my clients to.

Confession & accountability : I'm going to celebrate the gain instead of the gap!

This all feels a little different when it's pointed at me.

Let’s just say - this airplane is slammed full of OU Sooners. I mean I am surrounded and we tore them up yesterday between the hedges.

Women hold about 11% of construction jobs.

Around 30% of manufacturing.

Fewer still in distribution leadership.

Look closer and it gets sharper.

Most of those women sit in office roles, not on the floor, and rarely at the top.

So here's the harder question.

How many of them have someone fighting to put them at the table?

Here's what the numbers don't say. Women get mentored at twice the rate they get sponsored. Mentorship helps you survive the room. Sponsorship opens the door.

That gap is where good women stall out. Not for lack of talent. For lack of a path.

Making peanut brittle from scratch is a lot like leadership.

It looks simple until you try it. You have to watch the heat, stir at the right moments, move fast when it’s time, and trust the process even when it feels like it could burn at any second. Miss the timing, and the whole thing hardens the wrong way.

My parents make it every year. No shortcuts, no rushing. And every time, it’s a reminder: the best things are made with attention, patience, and a little pressure.

Turns out, peanut brittle isn’t fragile at all. It’s strong because of what it’s been through.

Same goes for people.
