1.45 TONS of Gewürztraminer grapes are officially harvested! Our 2026 w**e harvest is officially underway at Zin Valle Vineyards after two incredible days of hand-picking our white grapes (aka green grapes).

How do we know exactly when it’s time to pick? It’s all a balancing act with the grape’s sugar levels:

Too little sugar? The grapes aren’t ripe enough.
Too much sugar? They become overripe.

Because harvest timing greatly shapes the w**e’s final character, we monitor the grapes sugar levels daily this time of year.

For our Gewürztraminer, we wait for the grapes to be ready to ferment into a w**e with lovely, signature notes of grapefruit, spice, and honeysuckle with perfectly balanced acidity and a little residual sugar.

Thanks to an amazing growing season with no late freezes, damaging rains, or hail, this harvest is officially above average! It is a massive milestone for us after losing more than half of our crop to a freeze last year.

Next up: Our black grapes (aka red grapes), which naturally take a bit longer to ripen.

1.81 TONS of Malvasia Bianca grapes are officially harvested! Our 2026 w**e harvest kicked off with two incredible days of hand-picking our white grapes (aka green grapes) here at Zin Valle Vineyards.

Ever wonder how we know exactly when to pick? It all comes down to the sugar levels in the grapes:

Too low? The grapes are unripe, making the w**e too acidic and “green,” lacking the fullness of flavor and aroma we want.

Too high? They’re overripe, leading to low acidity and stewy fruit flavors that can overpower any elegant nuance the w**es might otherwise have.

For our Malvasia Bianca grapes, we wait for the perfect sweet spot so they ferment into a w**e that has beautiful peach and apricot flavors with balanced acidity and a little residual sugar.

This year was a good growing season—no late freezes, damaging rains, or hail! It’s a massive win for us after losing more than half our crop to a late freeze last year.

Next up: Our black grapes (aka red grapes!) which naturally ripen a bit slower.

Ever wonder what makes a true Italian Moscato so special? Here are a few fun facts behind our new trademarked w**e, MEOWscato!

While we named this fun new release in honor of our famous w**ery cat, Truffles, the w**e inside the bottle is an authentic, premium MOSCATO.

Moscato is a sweet, aromatic w**e made from Muscat—an ancient family of w**e grapes that has existed for thousands of years! This grape family goes back so far in history that it is believed Cleopatra’s favorite w**e was actually Muscat-based.

Here is what else makes this historic Italian w**e so unique:

The Sweet Name: The name Muscat comes from the Latin word muscus (meaning “musk”), chosen because of the grape’s sweet, intensely perfumed quality.

The Tasting Notes: When you swirl a glass of MEOWscato, vibrant aromas of orange blossom, honeysuckle, pear, peach, and apricot rise immediately out of the glass.
