Today, we recognize the hard work, dedication and contributions of workers throughout our community and across the country.

We would also like to give a special thank you to our Canyon Lake Firefighters and City of Canyon Lake employees who work each day to serve and support our community.

Fire Administration will be closed on Monday, and staff will return on Tuesday at 8:00 a.m. Your Canyon Lake Firefighters will remain on duty 24/7/365.

From all of us at the Canyon Lake Fire Department, we wish everyone a safe and happy Labor Day!

In recognition of the 25 years since September 11, 2001, the Canyon Lake Fire Department will raise a special “9-11” commemorative flag today.

The flag will remain on display as we approach September 11 and serves as a visible reminder to honor and remember the lives lost, the first responders who answered the call, and all those impacted by the events of that day.

We invite the community to join us for our annual 9-11 Remembrance Ceremony as we come together to honor, reflect, and remember.

Event Details:

• Please plan to arrive by 8:20 a.m.
• All ages are welcome
• Event should last approximately 30 minutes
• Refreshments will be available at the fire station following the event

The Canyon Lake Fire Department joins the nation in remembering Dolly Parton, a beloved singer, songwriter, actress, philanthropist, and humanitarian who touched the lives of so many.

Dolly will be remembered not only for her incredible music, but also for her kindness, generosity, and dedication to helping others. Her legacy will continue to inspire generations to come.

In her honor, flags will remain at half-staff through sunset on September 1, 2026.

Our thoughts and prayers are with her family, friends, and everyone mourning this tremendous loss.

🎒📚 Back-to-School Safety Reminder!

As students head back to school, Canyon Lake Fire Department reminds everyone to help keep our kids safe.

🚌 Never pass a school bus with flashing red lights.
👀 Watch carefully for children walking or biking.
🚶 Use crosswalks and look both ways before crossing.
📵 Keep phones and other distractions away while driving.

A little extra caution can make a big difference. Let’s have a safe and successful school year! ❤️

Today, the United States flag is being flown at half-staff in honor of U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham, who passed away on July 11, 2026, at the age of 71.

Born in Central, South Carolina, Senator Graham dedicated his life to public service. After earning his law degree, he entered the U.S. Air Force in 1982 as a Judge Advocate General (JAG) attorney. He served his country for more than 3 decades in the U.S. Air Force and Air Force Reserve, including overseas deployments in Iraq and Afghanistan, before retiring in 2015 with the rank of Colonel.

In addition to his military service, Senator Graham served in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1995 to 2003 and represented the people of South Carolina in the United States Senate for more than two decades. Throughout his career, he was recognized for his work on national security, military affairs, and the judiciary, serving on several key Senate committees and remaining an influential voice on issues affecting both South Carolina and the nation.

We join communities across the country in recognizing Senator Graham's decades of military and public service and extend our condolences to his family, friends, colleagues, and all who mourn his passing.

Today we celebrate 250 years of American independence and the freedoms that make our country so special. We hope you enjoy the day with family, friends, and all the traditions that make the Fourth of July one of our favorite holidays.

As you celebrate, please remember that all personal fireworks are illegal in Canyon Lake and throughout most of Riverside County. Illegal fireworks can quickly lead to fires, injuries, property damage, and can be especially difficult for veterans, pets, and others who are sensitive to loud explosions.

For a safe and memorable celebration, join us for the Canyon Lake POA Fourth of July Fireworks Show at Skippers Island beginning at 9:00 p.m. Leave the fireworks to the professionals and help us keep our community safe.

As a reminder, Fire Administration will be closed on Friday, July 3, 2026, in observance of the Independence Day holiday.

While you celebrate, please remember that all fireworks, except professional public displays, are illegal in Canyon Lake and throughout most of Riverside County. Illegal fireworks can result in fires, injuries, property damage, and significant fines. They can also cause tremendous stress for pets, wildlife, and veterans living with PTSD, turning what should be a celebration into a difficult experience for many members of our community.

If you witness the use of illegal fireworks, please do not call 911. Instead, report non-emergency fireworks activity to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department Non-Emergency Line at (951) 776-1099.

The Canyon Lake Fire Department extends our deepest condolences to the families, friends, and fellow firefighters affected by the tragic loss of three firefighters in Colorado.
Our thoughts are also with the firefighters who were injured and the crews who continue to battle the fire under extremely dangerous conditions.
In honor of the fallen, the Canyon Lake Fire Department will fly our "In Memoriam Flag" as a symbol of remembrance, respect, and gratitude for their sacrifice.
Please join us in keeping the families of the fallen, the injured firefighters, and all those working on the fire in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

With the Fourth of July approaching, the Canyon Lake Fire Department would like to remind residents that all fireworks, except professional pyrotechnic shows, are illegal in Canyon Lake and throughout most of Riverside County.
⚠️ Fines are enforced. Homeowners or tenants may be cited for fireworks violations. Individuals caught using, sellling, or transporting firworks may face fines up to $8,000 (combined between CLPOA and City of Canyon Lake)
📞 To report illegal fireworks, please do NOT call 911. Please contact the Riverside County Sheriff's Department Non-Emergency Line at (951) 776-1099.
