We are getting closer to opening the playground. We are still in the construction phase and ask everyone to please stay off of the playground until contractor is finished and we are ready. I am as excited as everyone else is to get this open. Bear with us as we finish up a few things and complete some last minute details. We hope to have a grand opening in early October.

Join us at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 20 for a groundbreaking for the playground. This is open to the public and lunch will be provided after by Southwest AMBUCS Amarillo.

After two years of fundraising, the Kylie Hiner Memorial Park Committee announced their fundraising goal of $1.1 million has been surpassed to reach $1.3 million. The committee announced the news at the September 6 Canyon City Commission meeting. Donations for the park were coordinated through and raised by Southwest Ambucs, a non-profit service organization consisting of a diverse group of men and women who are dedicated to creating mobility and independence for people with disabilities.

The groundbreaking for the playground will be held on Thursday, October 20th at 11:00 am. This is open to the public and lunch will be provided after by Southwest AMBUCS Amarillo. More information about the park can be found here: http://www.canyontx.com/708/Kylie-Hiner-Memorial-Park
