I am a graduate of Design Master’s Institute and have had lots of experience in faux finishing techniques and border designing. I can think of nothing more rewarding than being able to use my talents to bring happiness to other people. Since I started “Murals by Janet,” I have been blessed with the ability to do this for my wonderful clients. I love children and there is nothing I like more than d
esigning an adorable
nursery for an expecting couple. I grew up around cats, dogs and horses and have drawn them since I was a
child so when I get a client who needs a portrait of a beloved pet I can capture
the animal’s spirit on canvas. When a client invites me into their home I am greatly honored. To turn a
person’s home into their unique oasis is my goal. I’ve gotten the chance to
meet so many fantastic people and knowing that there is a little piece of me
that lives on in their home is a great feeling! I am a firm believer in Karma. The more beauty you bring into the world the
more beauty you will see around you. So, how can I help make your world a
more beautiful place? I am an artist, not a businesswoman. This is why you’ve heard the
phrase “starving artist” before. I enjoy some of my jobs so much I feel guilty getting paid for having fun! But, a girl’s got to eat so the nasty topic of money must rear its ugly head. For faux finishes I usually charge by the square foot. The more
difficult the technique the more it costs. For murals I estimate the length of time it will take, plus the difficulty level and give you an estimate. The same goes for canvases. Borders I charge by the square foot as well. Once again, the
more time consuming ones are more expensive. When a client calls me, I set up a time to meet with them at their home. I do not charge for this. I enjoy meeting new people and by seeing their surroundings I get a better idea of their tastes. I bring over samples and my portfolio for the client to view at this time. With the client’s permission I photograph the area where they wish to have work done. I listen to the client’s ideas and preferences and I take notes. At this time I like for the client to give me a ballpark figure as to how much they anticipated spending. I am happy to work within your
budget. In the end I always end up giving you more than you paid for. As I stated before, I have no business sense. Once we get the nasty money talk over with, I go home and get to work on sample boards for you to view. This way you have a preview of what is going to go on your wall before it goes on your wall. I do
not charge for these either, since it’s important that we are on the same page. When you see what you like we finalize the price and we decide on a start date. Clients usually give me keys to their homes or garage door openers or garage door codes or they just leave the house unlocked, I don’t recommend the latter. I am completely trustworthy and usually end up taking your dog out to p*e and bringing you cookies I’ve baked. I have a list of past clients who will happily vouch for me, and my cooking ability, upon request. So, call me today at (239)-560-3516, and together we’ll change the
