Cape Dry Ice Dry ice can be used for various reasons such as shipping, small dent removal, fog for special effect What is Dry Ice?

Dry ice is pure, solid carbon dioxide (CO2). As a gas CO2 exists naturally in our environment. It's called "dry ice" because it does not melt. Dry ice goes directly from a solid to a gas in a process called sublimation. Dry ice keeps items colder for much longer than traditional "wet ice" because try ice is -109 degrees F

Manufacturing/Medical Uses:
-temperature control to reduce the risk of sp

oilage.
-shrink fitting products that require a tight fit
-loosen floor tiles and other bonded materials by helping to loosen the bond
-shipping for medical reasons (blood, organs, breast milk, etc)

Household Uses:
-save perishable foods during a power outage
-remove dents on hail damaged vehicles or other small dents
-packing game, animal, or fish in the field to prevent spoilage
-attract mosquitoes to help keep them away from people during outdoor activities or events
-eradicate gophers; the gas that dry ice creates is heavier than air so it will find its way to the bottom of gopher nests

Fun Uses:
-fog for special effects: use a large container, warm water and pieces of dry ice to create fog
-school science projects
-keep drinks colder for your next party by using dry ice and wet ice; dry ice can extend the life of wet ice for up to 40 hours when small amounts are placed on top of the dry ice
