POSITION SUMMARY: As a Sign Installer, you will be responsible for being a team player in the installation/service of various custom signage, designs, & their components. You will be driving a company vehicle to client locations & installing/servicing various types of signage, lighting, & components. You will be operating various equipment, working at heights, utilizing proper PPE, & working in all weather conditions. Communication with customers, subcontractors, & suppliers is required. Must be able to work & communicate with sales team & production crew to meet the customer’s needs and requirements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Work safely & efficiently in a fast paced environment
•Document inventory/material used
•Safe transport & installation of various interior & exterior signage
•Following all laws & regulations in safe driving & work environment
•Maintain & operate crane, ladder trucks, forklifts & aerial equipment
•Use power/non-power & measurement tools
•Perform on-site welding to secure signs & poles
•Perform electrical wiring
•Work with concrete/sand/dirt/sakrete
•Clean install area, including removal & proper disposal of installation debris
•Measure properly & read/communicate measurements
•Operate a computer & read/understand electronic communications
•Learn & comprehend blueprints, manuals, procedures, etc & follow instructions
•Perform accurate math calculations
•Properly diagnose & repair all signage, including structural, electrical, & aesthetic issues.
•Survey new signage areas with accurate measurements, drawings, & documentation
•Maintain & clean trucks & service area
•Lift/team-lift/move, load, & unload all supplies & signs up to 150 lbs– utilize powered lifts for heavier loads
•Perform operations, such as rewiring & removing defective parts & installing new parts
•Completion photos once signage is installed & operational. Document all work performed.
•Communicate professionally with client, subcontractor, suppliers, sales representative, production manager, & management team
•Responsible for maintaining, proper utilization, & storage protection of all safety equipment
•Responsible for truck inventory & being prepared with all necessary tools, safety equipment, supplies, & signage parts for each job
•Maintain documentation for truck trip reports, inspections, & maintenance requests
•Assisting other team members including production crew
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
•High School or GED diploma
•Installers MUST be able to get a DOT medical card & have a valid & current driver’s license with a clean driving record with no restrictions – NO exceptions
•Ability to pass a welding test
•2-4+ years’ experience in sign industry preferred
•Class B CDL license is a plus – Must be willing to obtain their CDL license
•OSHA10 certification a plus
•Excellent communication skills
•Ability to understand & follow verbal & written instructions
•Willingness to learn new industry installation procedures & techniques
•Ability to learn & interpret drawings as well as a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram or schedule form
•Ability to learn & interpret various documents such as safety rules, operation & maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, & related documentation
•Ability to work independently & take responsibility
•Ability to handle pressure situations & work in fast paced environment – maintaining schedules with quality work
•Ability to assist, communicate, & work with others as a team player
•Ability to work in all weather conditions including extreme weather
•Have an understanding of computers & technology
•Must be able to multi-task, focus, & stay organized
•Must be mechanically inclined & able to use tools, power equipment, and digging equipment
•Some overnight travel required
•Some overtime required, must be flexible in scheduling
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
•Regularly required to be stationary for long periods, move about the plant, ascend/descend ladders, & position self to workRegularly required to lift/team-lift, move, carry 50-150 lbs
•Able to ascend/descend ladders, stairs, ramps, poles & not be height inhibited
•Able to communicate over surrounding noise
•Able to maintain body equilibrium to prevent falling & navigate uneven surfaces
•Able to constantly position oneself to service & install signage, sometimes at great heights &/or small spaces
•Must be able to handle vehicular traffic & able to safely navigate the Install Trucks & trailers
•No fear of heights
