Medicare Telehealth Billing Changes Effective October 1, 2026!

Beginning October 1, 2026, RHCs and FQHCs shall bill the individual Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) or HCPCS codes that describe the distant site telehealth service furnished, instead of the single HCPCS code G2025. These codes are published annually on the CMS website, along with the calendar-year PFS rulemaking.

Retirement Announcement

Todd Johnson, Chief Financial Officer, will retire on July 3, 2026, after more than 30 years of dedicated service to the company.

Todd was an integral part of launching Midwest Health Care, with his primary responsibility for financial operations. As the company grew, Todd has been responsible for Financial Management, Cost Reporting, Compliance, and day-to-day operations.

Commenting on Todd’s service to the company, Dr. Greg Tobin expressed, “I thank Todd for his incredible leadership and tremendous contributions to Midwest Health Care. Todd is an exceptional leader, financial steward, and teammate. He has been a critical leader on our team as we have transformed the trajectory of Midwest Health Care’s financial performance over many years. In addition to helping lead our successful financial performance, Todd has been central to building our strong values and culture. Throughout his career, he has been instrumental in leading the organization."

To ensure a seamless transition of leadership, Midwest Health Care has appointed Lori Bush as Chief Operating Officer and Lisa McGuire as Director of Finance.

Having Trouble Getting Your CLIA Certificate?

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) no longer mails CLIA fee coupons or paper certificates. CLIA certification and survey fees must now be paid online.

Are You Leaving Medicare Vaccine Dollars on the Table?

As a reminder, Rural Health Clinics (RHCs) are required to bill Medicare vaccines at the time of service as of July 1, 2025.

In order to be eligible to receive the reconciliation payment for the total cost of Medicare vaccines on the Cost Report, vaccines must have been billed to Medicare.
