Given all the criticism of the Ontario Ministry of Transportation the past few years regarding their alleged gross mismanagement of the Wolfe Island ferry docks and terminal construction, let alone all the on-going operational issues resulting in unscheduled loss of service, stranding passengers and vehicle for days, coupled with a lack of communication, I thought I’d do my best to switch things up by emphasizing kindness, politeness, and a positive approach in hopes it will motivate MTO to return to it’s pre-COVID high standards of professionalism and reliability….. How’d I do?! 🙂

The rebranding of Wolfe Island’s much beloved and storied general store is official today. With the secondary sign now installed, it was done first as it’ll be the first thing people coming off the ferry will see. The main sign is 27’ long, requiring more time and warmer weather to tackle. Jean & Aggie are the grandmother of Kate Slagle new owner, Kate Slagle. Kate and her husband James own the local Blue Moose Air BnB and expanded their operations this past summer to include the Island’s number one source of everything needed to sustain you…. Yes, of course they’re an L.C.B.O outlet…. Man cannot live on bread and Dasani alone! Vacuum formed 3-D plastic letters with a custom flat beige paint finish. The circle graphic is a laminated digital print of an original cartoon of Jean & Aggie mounted to 1/4” diebond (aluminum faced ABS plastic). Everything is mounted 1/2” off the surface by stainless steel and aluminum stems. This sign will last decades with zero maintenance.
