There are some decisions to be made this month. Unfortunately, I am running into the same problems I had before when I was renting a shop in Sherman's Dale. Back then, I could only do 1 truck at a time so I blamed it on that.
Now, I can work on or store about 7 to 10 trucks at a time. That being said, the biggest problem I had was racking up 10s of thousands in invoices and people will just leave their truck without paying for months. That and overhead is so much higher.
It's still about $4,000 a month between rent, insurance, tool replacement, etc.(not including personal bills, house, groceries etc)
It's gotten to that point again. There are enough trucks that I am almost out of room.
From April 1st on, we will be 125/hr as well as taking half down on EVERY job. No exceptions.
With that, the majority of jobs are done within a day or two. Exceptions are EMF ball joints, head machine work, engine reseals, etc.
I will have a pricing sheet publicly posted here within the next week or so so that nobody needs to ask for quotes anymore and the only fluctuations will be parts.
That and we are also done with any 6.0s going forward. Absolute worst customer base. If you can't afford to fix it ALL, I will not be blamed that you have a dozen problems and only want to bandaid one of them.
Next month will be the deciding factor if I keep the shop open to the public. $20,000 in revenue is the goal by the end of April. If it isn't hit, I will have to close the doors to the public because I cannot keep paying storage on vehicles.
I try to go out of my way to help everyone no matter their situations but unfortunately I don't exactly have rich parents or an endless sum of money to pull from.
