From my family to yours

What a year ! Crazy how fast time flies and children grow. And I age !

Watching our twins Kara and Kane navigate college and the coast guard. Our baby boy Luke becoming a senior and excelling in golf. Dani’s DNA photography business continuing to grow. Dani's DNA photography business is continuing to thrive and her mind/body/business results are growing. VoloHaus celebrating 12 years and delivering 400+ projects. And THIS YEAR - helping 6 of our beloved clients grow revenue and enterprise value and SELL. It is so fun to help hard working, risk taking leaders get rich.

It is also the MOST fun to give back. All of our kids have charities and causes they give time and treasure to. I have been on the board of New Haven for over a decade, and helping disadvantaged boys get the education and trade skills to become men and providers of their OWN families - always makes me beyond emotional.

I am also grateful for our country, culture and values. Our friend Col. Nate Miller retired this year – it was so amazing to have a front row seat and enjoy his journey - and what he gave to our country. So proud of my son Kane choosing to join the Coast Guard due to Nate’s example

Your self-talk and habits will make or break you.

A winner does not let that inner voice stop them from pursuing the things they know they are meant to do.

They do not let that small voice determine what they can or cannot do.

But most importantly, they do not let that inner voice stop them from getting up again after a failure.

But you know what the most important thing is?

That little voice in your head, may that be either positive or negative, is largely UNDER YOUR CONTROL.

And a winner will always aim for that voice to be for him so that he can succeed in whatever he puts his mind to.

Constraints are limitations or restrictions.

In business, these are the factors stopping you from gaining new revenue, every single time.

And while there are various factors that may come into play, here are the most common ones:

* Lack of a clear marketing and sales plan
* The wrong people
* Incorrect inbound and outbound strategy
* Unclear understanding of ideal buyer avatar
* Poor understanding of each team mates role in that plan

One of our client’s reps is closing EVERYTHING he touches. I asked him why.

He said, “positive energy and good vibes.”

When I asked him to clarify what the heck he was talking about, he said that he shifted his self-talk from negative to positive and that helped him create better habits.

He started to feel more respect for his body and mind. He stopped drinking more than 1 glass of wine and quit va**ng all substances. Started eating well, rather than satisfying cravings or trying to feel full all day. He “closed his eating window” by 6 p.m.

He also started focusing on sleeping earlier and getting more rest. That meant a dark, quiet room with no screens or blue light from his phone.

He takes 2 minutes before a call to meditate on the vision and intention he wants. He puts himself in the customer’s shoes and adopts a “servant’s mindset,” meaning he is there to solve the customer’s problem not his own quota.

He communicates clearly and concisely with good open-ended questions to really get to the bottom of a prospect’s issues, because he has decided to CARE.

In other words, he’s adopted a wholistic approach that not only includes how he relates to customers but also optimizes his own mental and physical health, so he performs at his best.

You are your own key to success. Never take that for granted.
