Mind Shifts and Breakthroughs

Oftentimes, when we look at a problem, we see it from one angle and get stuck…until someone else points out a new way or we happen to stumble on a whole new perspective.

It’s not your fault. Scientific findings show that the mind gets into the same record groove or pattern of thinking until it is jarred out of that well-worn path, opening an awakening into a new pattern. Abraham Maslow warned that if someone has a hammer everything looks like a nail.

When our ego doesn’t allow us to be open to new ideas or beliefs, we persist in the same patterns and old habits that have gotten us here so far. So, we see the same results repeatedly.

As Einstein said, “Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.” If you want different results, you must think and act differently.

In the business realm, just as in life, we need to try something new and develop fresh approaches. This often means stepping out of our comfort zone, releasing old thought patterns, and adopting new ones.

We will inevitably make mistakes along the way. However, we must have the courage to keep on going. Just like in the Fred Astaire song “dust yourself off and start all over again.” Keep on going and reorient yourself in the right direction! So, if you want to escalate to whole new levels in life and in business that means you must undergo deliberate mindset shifts that open up new revelations, propelling new actions towards higher levels of achievement.

Very frequently, you cannot get there on your own. You may need a push out of your comfortable groove from an external source—a coach or consultant. That little shove in the right direction could have exponential consequences on your life and career path. It could widen the scope of opportunities for a more prosperous and fulfilling future.
