Tonight, NCWC Youth Council Director Julia Pavone, Youth Council Advisor Mark Foo and Executive Director go LIVE with Tsewang Namgyal, co founder of KIMA Network and the KIMA app, who was born and raised in Syabru Besi, one of the communities devastated by the disaster. Tsewang lost relatives and childhood friends and is now working to support children who have been impacted.

We’re talking about what happened, what’s needed NOW and the bigger question: How does our environmental footprint here contribute to a climate crisis impacting communities around the world?

This Wednesday, a devastating flash flood struck the Nepal, Tibet border after a glacial collapse in the Himalayas released a massive surge of water, ice, rock, and debris. The disaster caused widespread destruction and has left hundreds dead and more than a thousand people missing, with rescue efforts still underway and the numbers still growing.
As our communities come together in prayer, Rasuwa Society will hold a prayer at Sera Jey, while Kyidrong Kyidug will hold another prayer tomorrow at the Tibetan Community Hall 6-8PM.
Let us pray for those who lost their lives, those still missing, and all the families affected by this tragedy. 🙏.
