Though labeled with the statewide appellation, this is actually a single-done selection from Lia's vineyard in the Chehalem Mountains. Principally whole- cluster fermented, it mixes cherry fruit with light touches of orange flesh and rind. The finish is dense and lingers gracefully. -PAUL GREGUTT

Regularly, the wine goes for $38, and in Josh Reynolds of Vinous.com's words, it is “…Intensely perfumed scents of pungent red berries, cherry, Asian spices and candied flowers. Densely packed yet lively, offering sappy, gently sweet raspberry and spice cake flavors and a subtle cola note. Finishes very long and nervy, featuring lingering red fruit character and supple tannins. There's more depth and power here than one finds in plenty of other examples of this vintage.”
