This is your weekly Carlyle Lake fishing update,
Sponsored by: The City of Carlyle and your Carlyle Lake Project Office, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
This is Al Crocker with your weekly update.
Carlyle Lake pool elevation is 444.5, and holding pretty steady. Surface temp is low 80's. Water clarity is very good.
Crappie fishing is still good here at the lake, as the spawn is finishing up. The fish will now move off the bank a bit to a little deeper water and move to their summer spots.
Bass fishing is a pleasant surprise, as more bass are being caught than expected. Real nice 2 lb. fish that are super healthy should mean a return to some decent 4 and 5 lb. fish in a year or two.
White bass fishing is just starting to get going, with a few really big whites being caught around the islands and trestles between Keyesport and Boulder.
Catfishing is starting to get real good here also. Tight-lining and drift fishing, as well as trot-lining producing really nice fish.
Summer at Carlyle Lake is a great time to be a fisherman.
Come and enjoy!
Wear your life jacket.
AC - Out.
