The first cool nights of fall call for something a little richer, and this one delivers. Our 2023 Estate Grown Reserve Pinot Noir opens with black cherry and blackberry preserves, then warms up with cinnamon and clove.

W**emaker Greg Freeman made this one to show off Chalone Vineyard at its best. It's full and generous, with a long finish that leaves a hint of violet and a bit of minerality behind.

Our closest neighbor is Pinnacles National Park, and on nights like this one, it's hard to look anywhere else.

Chalone Vineyard sits high in the Gavilan Mountains, where those jagged volcanic spires rise just beyond our vines. Below the surface, our vines grow in limestone and granite, a rare mix in California and a big part of why Chalone earned its own appellation. It's remote, it's rugged, and it gives our w**es a character you can't find anywhere else.

There's a reason this part of California doesn't look — or taste — like anywhere else. Those rock spires on the horizon are the Pinnacles, shaped by a volcano some 28 million years ago.
