I am excited to announce that Direct Impact Partnership is working with the City of Greenwood and Aspire Economic Development & Chamber Alliance in Johnson County to survey Greenwood residents about their post Covid-19 work-from-home plans.

One national survey shows that 35% of at-home workers say they would take a lower-paying job just to continue working from home once the pandemic ends. And we've all seen reports about businesses and corporations dramatically downsizing their office space to save money. This means that daytime populations are changing as fewer people commute to work, and the economic development world is taking note.

The results of this survey will be used by commercial real estate developers, the Mayor's office, broadband providers, public safety officials and others as they look ahead over the next 3-5 years and plan for a growing number of people who access their services during the day. What will be the long term impact of a growing work-from-home workforce? We'll find out!

If you want to grow your organization, communicate your message or execute a project that you can't get done with current staff or financial resources, Direct Impact Partnerships is ready to help. Visit us at directimpactpartnerships.com for more information.

Last week, I wrote about the need for non-profits and small businesses to think ahead to when social distancing – at least to the extent we’re experiencing it now – is no longer necessary and life is back to “normal”.

When that time comes, many of you will need help writing grant proposals, loan applications and investment proposals.

Direct Impact Partnerships has done it for others, and we can do it for you.

Today, I want to focus on non-profits. I’ve been doing a lot of research about fundraising in times of crises, and the experts all agree: NOW IS THE TIME TO ASK FOR MONEY!

Donors are giving and giving generously, so this is not the time for non-profits to cancel or postpone scheduled appeals.

It is the time to remind donors why they support you in the first place, and why their support is even more important today.

If you represent, work for, volunteer for or even know of a non-profit organization that hasn’t already reached out to its donor base for support during the time of Coronavirus, Direct Impact Partnerships can help. Just reach out to me at [email protected].

Whether you want to discuss preparing an appeal, or working on those proposals or applications, now is the time. We’re ready to start.

For those of you who make your living (or some portion thereof) as an artist of any kind whose income is being impacted by Covid19, there are grants available from the Artists Relief Fund. Take a look and let me know if you have any questions.

Dear friends and colleagues:

Like you, we at Direct Impact Partnership are seeking to do our part in curtailing – and eventually ending – this awful Covid19 pandemic by keeping our distance while supporting local businesses through mail order and delivery options. Most of us are either struggling to keep our businesses afloat or feeling overwhelmed as we work overtime to help those who are hurting. It’s an uncertain time for all of us, and I am grateful to each and every one of you who understands that we’re truly all in this together.

One thing I know for sure: even now – and definitely when this is over – a lot of you are going to need help. NON-PROFITS AND SMALL BUSINESSES DO AND WILL NEED HELP WRITING GRANT PROPOSALS, LOAN APPLICATIONS AND INVESTMENT PROPOSALS as the best way to stay afloat as things return to normal. And that’s where Direct Impact Partnerships comes in. We have nearly three decades of experience researching, writing and negotiating successful public and private proposals and we want to help you. If you or someone you know is struggling to put together a proposal or application for any reason, give us a call or email us at [email protected]. We’re here to help!

Valery

My client, Carmel Symphony Orchestra, is presenting An Austrian Odyssey on Feb. 8 at the Palladium in celebration of Beethoven's 250th birthday. Beethoven's 9th Symphony (think Ode to Joy) is widely considered to be his greatest masterpiece. And he was deaf when he wrote it!

Join us for a night of exuberant music and incredible vocals; you won't regret it. Tickets are available at CarmelSymphony.org or by calling the Center for Performing Arts box office at (317) 843.3800.

Both last night's Carmel Symphony Orchestra concert, SINATRA & FRIENDS featuring Grammy nominated recording artist Steve Lippia, and the 50s-cool, pre-concert RAT PACK PARTY, were a huge success. Direct Impact Partnerships is proud to have led the charge in planning the party (a sell-out by the way) and promoting the entire event. Whether you love the classics, are a pops aficionado, or prefer something more contemporary, you should definitely check out the CSO. (Special thanks to Amy Pauszek for the picture of conductor Janna Hymes!)
